Famous for being the only flag in the world that isn't quadrangular. Two triangles are connected vertically and is said to express the Himalayan Mountains of Hinduism or Buddhism. The white moon depicted on the top is the royal family symbol, while the the sun illustrated in the bottom is said to symbolize the Lana family, which acted as the administration until the mid 20th century. After the direct imperial rule transitioned to republicanism, some have voiced the need to change designs.
