

In 1991, the nation gained independence with the dissolution of Russia, and the design was pulicly sought for and officialized in 1992, a year after independence. Light blue always resembles purity. The sun is used as a symbol of life, the cycle of nature, and promise for fertility. The eagle is a symbol of pride, dignity, broad perspectives, and insightfulness, and the depiction of the eagle flighing high in the sky expresses freedom and strength.
