The horizontally divided white, blue, and red design is the same as the Russian flag, but it is said that the Slovenian flag was derived from the heraldic emblem from the old Carantania Nation. In the upper left is the national emblem, in which white symbolizes the highest domestic mountain Triglav Mountain, and the waves represent the Adriatic Sea or the rivers. The shape of the emblem and the three stars are derived from the heraldic emblem of the Celje Family. The current flag was officialized in 1994 along with the declaration of independence.
