A design divided into three vertical parts, colored black, red, and green, with the national emblem set in the middle. The national emblem is composed of a mosque and mihrab (indicating direction of Mecca) surrounded by ears of wheat, and on the uppper half is written, "There is no other God than Allah. Muhammad is Allah's prophet. Allah is great." Black represents the surpressed past, red, of the blood shed by national citizens during war, and green, the color of Islam and peace.
