It is said that the red color, which connotates blood, was eliminated to help surpress conflicts among the ethnic tribes. The yellow sun on the upper right represents the light of hope which leads people to unity, and the light stripes express conflict and enlightenment of ignorance. Blue represents the sky, happiness, and peace, yellow, economical advancement, and green, the rich resources.
