Flag of Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast)

The orange, white, and green horizontally divided flag was established a year before independence from France and is based on the flag of its former colonial power. Although there are different versions of explainations for the colors, none are official. One explanation is that orange represents the northern Savanna, green, the southern tropical forests, and white, unity. Also, orange is said to express the natural resources and the youths' passion toward national establishment.
