The United Nations is an international institution that was founded in 1945. In the center is an olive branch and a North Pole-centric world map. The flag was selected in the second General Assembly in October 1942. It expresses how the UN is an international institution and was established for the purpose of peace promotion. It is supposed to be hoisted higher than any other flag and treated with the utmost priority.
