The flag was originally used by an organization of Indonesian students studying in Holland and was then inherited by the Indonesian National Party and turned into the national flag. The Indonesian flag is called "the noble two-colored flag" or "the noble red and white flag". It is thought that there was some meaning to the red and white colors, such as the old symbolization of sun and moon. Today, red is said to symbolize courage, while white symbolizes justice.
