The Chinese flag is called the "Five Starred Red Flag" and appeared with the establishment of People's Republic of China. Although the base color red and the star are symbols of Communism, officially, red is said to represent revolution and the yellow star, light that appears on the red earth. The big star expresses the Communist Party, while the four small stars represent the Chinese people, and together, they express the unity of Chinese people under the supervision of the Chinese Communist Party.
