Flag of South Africa

The design was publicly sought for when the Mandela administration inaugurated in 1994. It was selected from 7000 submissions and leverages the flag of African National Congress (ANC), led by Mandela, and the six colors used in Holland and Britain, countries with historical relations. The Y turned on its side expresses hopes for how the various elements in the South African society gather into one and unifies into one path.
